The Opportunity

MyJobs is currently inviting applications from talented Software Engineers for four full-time opportunities in Belfast.

These positions offer experienced and ambitious technology professionals the opportunity to work in modern software development environments, designing and delivering high-quality digital products and technology solutions.

The successful candidates will contribute across the software development lifecycle, working alongside engineers, technical leads, product specialists and other technology professionals.

We are interested in hearing from Software Engineers who combine strong technical ability with a practical approach to problem-solving and a commitment to building reliable, scalable and maintainable software.

Key Responsibilities

The Software Engineers will be responsible for a range of development and technical activities, including:

• Designing, developing, testing and maintaining high-quality software applications.
• Writing clean, efficient, secure and maintainable code.
• Developing new functionality and enhancing existing applications.
• Participating in the full software development lifecycle.
• Working with APIs, databases and cloud-based services.
• Troubleshooting, debugging and resolving software issues.
• Reviewing code and contributing to engineering standards and best practices.
• Working within Agile development environments.
• Contributing to automated testing and continuous integration processes.
• Supporting the deployment and monitoring of applications.
• Collaborating with product, engineering and technical teams.
• Identifying opportunities to improve system performance, scalability and reliability.
• Maintaining appropriate technical documentation.
• Keeping up to date with emerging technologies and software development practices.

Candidate Specification

Applicants should ideally hold a qualification in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or another relevant discipline, or demonstrate equivalent professional experience.

Candidates should have:

• Professional software development experience.
• Strong programming and problem-solving abilities.
• Experience with one or more modern programming languages such as Java, JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, C#, C++ or similar.
• Understanding of object-oriented and/or modern software development principles.
• Experience working with databases and APIs.
• Familiarity with Git or other version-control technologies.
• Knowledge of testing and debugging methodologies.
• Understanding of cloud technologies and modern development environments.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a technical team.

Desirable Experience

Experience in some of the following areas would be advantageous:

AWS, Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud; React, Angular or other modern web frameworks; microservices; DevOps; Docker; Kubernetes; CI/CD pipelines; automated testing; cybersecurity; artificial intelligence or machine learning integration.

Experience developing large-scale, high-availability or data-intensive applications would also be welcomed.
