Electricians – Multiple Positions
Location: St. John’s, Newfoundland & Labrador, Canada
MyJobs is seeking a team of experienced and qualified Electricians for opportunities with our client in St. John’s, Newfoundland & Labrador.
These positions offer an excellent opportunity for skilled tradespeople interested in developing their careers in Canada. Applications are welcomed from suitably qualified electricians currently based in Canada and internationally.
The Opportunity
Successful candidates will work across electrical installation, maintenance and associated projects, ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently and in accordance with applicable Canadian and Newfoundland & Labrador standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, troubleshoot and repair electrical systems and equipment.
- Read and interpret drawings, schematics and technical specifications.
- Install wiring, conduits, panels, fixtures and electrical components.
- Diagnose electrical faults and complete corrective maintenance.
- Conduct testing and inspections.
- Follow the Canadian Electrical Code and relevant provincial requirements.
- Maintain high standards of workplace health and safety.
- Work effectively as part of a wider trades and project team.
Candidate Specification
Applicants should have:
- Recognised electrical trade qualifications.
- Relevant post-qualification practical experience.
- Strong electrical installation and fault-finding skills.
- Ability to interpret electrical drawings and specifications.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Strong commitment to safety and quality.
Canadian Trade Requirements
Construction Electrician is a compulsory certified trade in Newfoundland & Labrador. Candidates must therefore obtain the appropriate provincial trade recognition before independently working in the compulsory trade.
Candidates qualified elsewhere in Canada may have their Certificate of Qualification recognised by Newfoundland & Labrador. Internationally trained electricians will normally need to apply through the province’s Trade Qualifier process to have their skills and experience assessed. Qualified construction electricians may also obtain the nationally recognised Red Seal endorsement. (Government of Newfoundland and Labrador)
